DETROIT, Nov. 27, 2008 (AP): Millions of Michigan residents are beginning their holiday celebrations at home, while thousands more are gathering in Detroit for the annual Thanksgiving Day parade. 


The Detroit College Promise announces the start of its scholarship program for Cody High School Seniors

November 28, 2008:  The Detroit College Promise, a nonprofit organization emulating the Kalamazoo Promise, began accepting applications for college tuition scholarships from seniors at Frank Cody High School in Detroit on 1 December 2008—this is a pilot program which will be expanded to other high schools that are part of the Detroit Public Schools (DPS) as funds are available.

Granholm, Epolito announce new centers of Energy Excellence

Epolito announced Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) approval of three alternative energy partnerships in Ann Arbor, East Lansing/Webberville, and Alpena to be designated the state’s newest Centers of Energy Excellence (COEE).
