The course will be held from 10 a.m.
to 3 p.m., Monday, December 19- Thursday,
December 22, 2011 at
Lorain County Community College.
At the end of the course, students will receive a free
refurbished computer for their home.
CYC is a national coalition led by nonprofit OneCommunity to
provide broadband training, equipment and support for 26,000
low-income individuals. It is fully funded through a two-year
grant of about $850,000 from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s
Broadband Technology Opportunities Program. LCCC is one of the
partners of the Lorain County
CYC program.
The course will teach the basics of computer and Internet use,
including online bill pay, how to file taxes online and more.
Course graduates must have Internet in their home in order to
receive the free computer at the end of the class.
CYC will also being a series of six-week training courses in
January. The courses will take place at various locations in
Lorain County.
