Shrine to host
special Masses
The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in
Carey, Ohio, will host two special Masses in October. The first
Mass is on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 7 pm for Hope and
Healing. This Mass is for cancer victims, survivors and their
loved ones. Since October is known as breast cancer awareness
month, we especially pray for those with this disease.
The Shrine staff realizes many people are touched by this
disease and would like to provide prayers and a time for support
and comfort for the victims and their family and friends.
Following the Mass, visitors will be invited to participate in
special prayers for healing.
Then on Sunday, October 16 (Feast of St. Gerard Majella)
at 12:00 pm there will be a Mass for those who are expecting a
child or trying to have one. St. Gerard is the patron saint of
motherhood.
Both of these prayer opportunities are open to the public and
all are invited to come and pray on their journey to faith, hope
and healing.
