As the newest “Bella,” Veronica received a makeover, was
photographed for the special edition, and enjoyed a trip to
People en Español’s “50 Most
Beautiful” cover photo shoot. She also appeared in a special
segment of Telemundo’s “Levántate”
program that followed her during her makeover, photo shoot and
featured an exclusive interview with Host Alan Thatcher.
Veronica’s whirlwind experience will culminate at the People
en Español’s “50 Most Beautiful”
party in May where she will walk the star-studded red carpet.
This year, user engagement for the contest surpassed that of
last year’s by leap and bounds - as more than 85,000 votes were
cast and over 30,000 comments were posted on the ‘51st
Most Beautiful’ site.
The program’s success is largely credited to a 360 media
approach including online, print and TV created in partnership
by Yahoo! En
Español, People en
Español and
Telemundo to support the search for the “51st
Most Beautiful.
The search for this year’s “51st Most Beautiful” ran
from January 14 through February 20,
2009. Yahoo! En Español users
were given the opportunity to submit their photos at
www.51bello.com to compete for the title of
People en Español’s “51st
Most Beautiful.
Twenty five finalists were then selected by People en
Español, Yahoo! En
Español and
Telemundo and posted on www.51bello.com. Users were then
able to view contestant photos and profiles, comment and vote
for their favorites. The winner was determined by People en
Español, taking into account
user votes and other editorial components.
